MDLA Board Nominations - download a form today! All nominations must be postmarked or faxed by Saturday, May 17th, 5:00 p.m.
Nominations for 2008-2009 MDLA Board member positions are now open. We ask that as a member of MDLA you take the nomination process for your association very seriously. In order for any organization to be effective, the members must be willing to take an active role in its leadership, and that leadership cannot become stagnant. Enclosed you will find a nomination form which you may use to nominate yourself or another member of MDLA. Nominees must be lab owners or designated representatives from MDLA active member laboratories, and for one seat, an active Affiliate member. Before nominating someone, please make sure that he or she agrees to serve if elected. Board meetings are held bi-monthly with every other meeting being a conference call.

Letter from the President: TIMES ARE A CHANGIN’
On Friday, March 14, after the MDLA annual meeting, there will be an open forum discussion which will address many new regulations which are on the horizon. If you haven’t heard the news about lead contamination in restorations from China, go to NewsBites and then Regulatory and Outsourcing Issues to read more about it. Many new requirements for all size laboratories to deal with the issue of outsourcing, product identification, and tracking of materials used in the production of restorations will be proposed in the future. Whether we agree or disagree with the advent of legislation, it WILL be forthcoming. Your livelihood is in the balance. Therefore, I strongly encourage each and everyone of you to come to the Friday evening annual meeting and forum held thereafter to discuss these important issues.
